A second Syria

Synopsis

More than 90% of Syrians in Turkey do not have the status of ‘refugee’, because they live outside camps. They are considered ‘guests’ and they do not receive any support from the state. Obtaining a work permit is a complicated and cumbersome process, which pushes most Syrians into working illegally in the informal labor market.

A Second Syria tells the stories of several highly skilled refugees fighting to survive with less than minimum wage.
